Edge Definitions

#1 Edge Perfectly round or square edge with the highest degree of accuracy.

#2 Edge The natural hot rolled edge. Typically has an uneven contour.
|
|

#3 Edge The natural edge produced by slitting. This edge leaves the slitting burr.
|
|

|
#4 Edge An approximately round edge produced by edge rolling. This edge is less accurate than the #1 Edge.

#5 Edge The natural edge produced by slitting with the burr removed.

#6 Edge An approximately square edge produced by edge rolling. This edge is less accurate than the #1 Edge.
